DH KIDS BOOK CLUB

SPRING 2013

We are happy to announce that Deutsches Haus at NYU is again offering a Book Club for children this spring. The DH Kids Book Club is for children aged 8 to 10.

Here, children will receive the opportunity to improve their reading skills and develop an interest in German literature. The DH Kids Book Club is for bilingual children who can speak and read German. We would like to provide them with a relaxed environment in which they will enjoy a fun and exciting German book. Newcomers are always welcome. The Kids Book Club takes place once a week and children should read the texts in advance.

Eine Woche voller Samstage von Paul Maar

Sams.jpg

Mr. Taschenbier is an anxious person. He is afraid of his landlord, his boss and of all the people who give orders – until the Sams runs into him on a Saturday and decides to stay with him. The Sams is a fearless, almost disrespectful creature, which is not frightened of anybody, and who always adds cheeky comments and blusters back if others  bluster. Mr. Taschenbier is incredibly embarassed at first and tries to get rid of the Sams in many ways. But oddly: The longer it stays with Mr. Taschenbier, the more he likes the Sams.

Will their friendship last?
